Is therapy confidential?

Yes! Therapy is always confidential with just a few exceptions. For yours and others’ safety, Nicole is required as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to notify authorities if she believes you’re at risk of harming yourself or someone else or she suspects abuse or neglect of a child or a person who is elderly or disabled. This is true for all mental health professionals.

How long is each therapy session?

Typically counseling sessions are reserved for 50-55 minutes 5-10 minutes reserved for administrative tasks. Even if they spend the last few minutes on notes, know that they are spending that time for you.

What is your treatment approach?

I pull from a variety of approaches to tailor counseling to your needs. I believe you are a person with a unique story, and I am interested in that.

How do I get started?

What if I'm late or have to cancel?

Sometimes things come up. It is important to be aware of your counselor's office policy on cancellation and no-shows. Depending on counseling office, typically there is a 24-48 hour window in which your session must be cancelled. This is because that time is reserved for you, and that space may have been filled given more notice.

If you are late, it is helpful to call your therapist's office to let them know. That way, you and your therapist can gear up for using the rest of your session time wisely.
